Folks, we are ready to make the next My Politic album & we need your help! We are looking to raise 12k to record & release our next project. We've got some of the most brilliant musicians -- people we are truly lucky to call our friends -- ready to make these songs come to life! Essentially, we are getting the "Missouri Folklore" band together! If you've seen us on the road at all in 2024, we've been playing as many of these songs as we can...where “Missouri Folklore” was a dark, reflective character driven set of songs, these new ones are more of an existential wrestling with the here and now -- songs about time & how we spend it, curiosity & staying engaged with the world around us. There are hopeful songs as well as songs of despair & many shades in between. While the crew will remain mostly the same, our shifting influences & our own personal evolutions will guarantee something new & different.
Nick and I have been working really really hard on this new batch of songs. We both feel that we are at the peak of our abilities when it comes to playing, songwriting, & finding our "sound." With your help, we can make this new album a reality!
Truth be told, we had plans to record this album in May of 2024. For a year and half leading up to Spring, we were in talks with someone who was interested in recording/releasing the project. All of that came to a very quick end over contractual differences and we've spent the last couple of months trying to figure out what to do without the financial resources we would have had access to. So, we are turning to the folks that have never let us down: our fans, friends & music family. Y'all have always had our backs and allowed us to make the records we want the way we want. We are asking for your help once again, and we can't thank y'all enough for being there. Please, help us spread the word about this project. We are hoping to record this Fall/Winter and put the album out in 2025. Whether you give $1, $5, $10 or $100's of dollars, it doesn't matter. Every little bit counts! It is a very tough time to be in this business. We strive to make art that reflects the struggles and the joys of everyday people. We have no interest in gaming algorithms or chasing trends. We appreciate your help along this journey! 12K is a lot of money but with your help we can make it!
